Cavitation of the Slurry Pump
Centrifugal slurry pump cavitation principle mainly involves the knowledge of physics, but also involves a small part of the chemical phenomenon.
The cause of cavitation
When the slurry pump is in operation,a portion of the head of the impeller inlet blade is the lowest position of the flow pressure,When the local pressure of the liquid is reduced to a pressure equal to or lower than the vapor pressure at that time,Flow through the Department will occur vaporization, resulting in bubbles. The bubbles are filled with steam and some of the active gases (such as oxygen) that are precipitated from the liquid and scattered into the bubbles. When the bubbles into the pump with the liquid pressure to a higher pressure part,In the bubble around the higher pressure flow, the bubbles are compressed and deformed and crushed, cause huge and belong to the inner explosive nature of the condensation shock.
Cavitation damage
When the bubble collapse occurs at the wall of pump runner,To generate a micro-jet, which hit the wall at high speed, the formation of local high pressure on the wall,(Up to several hundred megapascals),the result to a blow to metal material. If the above bubbles continue to occur and collapse,It formed a continuous blow to the metal material,So the metal surface was quickly eroded by fatigue. In addition, due to erosion caused by metal protective film has been destroyed, under the help of condensation heat, the active gas precipitated from the liquid in the bubble reacts with the chemical corrosion of the metal.
Above mentioned bubble formation, development, collapse, so that the flow through the wall was damaged process, known as the pump cavitation.
